PTFA, Parent Body and community links

The Parent, Teacher and Friends Association is a registered charity which organises events throughout the year to raise money for the school. Money is spent in a wide variety of ways to improve the education of children at Allington School. The PTFA is not just a fund-raising body, it also brings parents, teachers and pupils together in social events.

All parents with children attending the school are automatically members of the association and no membership fee is charged.

Every parent is welcome to attend the AGM and can seek election to the committee. Needless to say, whether you are a committee member or not, your help at events will always be appreciated. Any support you give will benefit your child.

Parent Body

We are very proud of our Parent Body! Our aim is to be a platform for parents to share ideas and issues with the school and the governors in order to continue to develop our positive relationship, as well as improving our children’s experiences at the school.

Should you have an agenda item you would like to be discussed at the Parent Body meetings, please email your class representative (contact details were sent home by letter). They are as follows:

KS1
Koalas
Kangaroos
Pandas Leigh Jones
Penguins Afton Davis
Lions Lisa Jolly
Leopards Katie Cummins
KS2
Toucans Lisa Maye
Tigers Jo Halliday
Wolves Julie Wright
Wildcats Karen Gregory

Flamingos

Clare Isaacs
Falcons Lisa Minnis
Macaws Emma Hamilton Barnes
Meerkats

We will be meeting termly and minutes will be kept of all meetings. In order to feedback to parents, we will publish the feedback shared in the meeting on Parentmail. If it has been decided that an issue or idea raised needs to be directed through a channel other than the Parent Body, the class representatives will inform the parent raising the item that that is the case.

Community links

We are lucky to have such good links with our local community.  Our football kit sponsors are currently Ben Siggens Estate Agents.  They have kindly purchased full kits for 14 children.  Their website can be accessed via http://www.bensiggins.co.uk/  Thank you.

The Lions Club of Maidstone have also sponsored 130 High Viz vests for our children to wear when they are out and about on school trips- thank you for providing us with a resource that will make it so much easier to keep a close eye on the children!

Our  library project is now well underway. We are thrilled that so many children sponsored the books with their purchase of book plates! We would also like to say a huge thank you to the team at Future Generations who made a generous contribution to the purchase of new books- look out for the photos of the library shortly (we don't want to spoil the suprise for the children!).
