Admissions

Our admissions policy can be found at the bottom of this page.

In deciding where you would like your child to go to school, it is really important to find out as much as you can about the schools themselves- this can be through their websites, through the experiences of other parents and their children, or indeed through visiting the school. We hold open mornings in November for parents of children due to start in Reception the following September. You simply need to sign up to one of the sessions and these will be advertised nearer the time.

We are also very happy for parents to make specific appointments to visit the school during the academic year and we would ask you to arrange this with the office.

The local authority (LA) coordinates all admissions for children starting school for the first time and the link below will direct you to the Kent County Council website where you will find all the information that you require. If you have a child in any other year group, and would like to enquire about places, then please do so directly through the school office.

Kent County Council's admissions team can be contacted on 03000 416 789 for in-year places, or 03000 416 111 for entry to primary school.

For advice call 03000 41 21 21 or email kentonlineadmissions@kent.gov.uk.

For information about appealing for a primary school place, please visit https://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/school-places  where you will find information and documentation regarding the process.

Foundation Stage

Children start school in the September following their 4th birthday. The admissions round opens in November for the following September and applications are made online at https://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/school-places/primary-school-places#tab-4. If you have any difficulty with the process, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help with the application process. You should choose up to 3 schools in order of preference, and the Local Education Authority will advise you in the middle of April which school you have been allocated.

Key dates for 2024 Year R admissions are as follows:
  • Deadline for applications: 15th January 2024
  • National offer day: 16th April 2024
  • Deadline for lodging appeals: 14th May 2024

If your child is due to start Primary school in September 2024, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Tuesday, 16 April 2024). You needed to submit your appeal before Tuesday 14 May 2024 for it to be considered by Tuesday 16th July 2024. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education

In Year Admissions

We are currently holding a waiting list for all year groups.  The waiting list is structured using our admission criteria.

If you would like to join the waiting list please complete an IYAF (in year casual admission form) and send it to the school office. This link will take you to the form on the Kent website:

https://www.kent.gov.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0012/3522/in-year-application-form.pdf

Once we have responded to your IYAF, if you would like to appeal for an in year place, please write to the school detailing reasons for your appeal.  In-year appeals will be heard 30 days after the appeal is lodged.

Our catchment area is shown on the map below:
